25 years of life in Tennessee

Photos:Hot Air balloon at dawn, Victoria Falls-Zimbabwe, View of "God's Window in South Africa, Elephant Safari in Zimbabwe, Lion Safari in Zimbabwe, Getting ready to white water raft down the White Nile in Jinja, Uganda

By now, I am officially a "country girl", have lived longer in Tennessee than the state I was born in. We just took our youngest off to the we are officially empty nesters, except for our precious little dog. A friend of mine mentioned to me that no one should judge "this book" by it's cover...I look all pretty in pink with my auburn locks, but there is a Navy Seal side to me that is very much alive. I took that as a HUGE compliment, and want to continue to live life to the fullest, and use the strength, time and talents that I have been given to help others. Here are a few photos from our 25th...white water rafting on the Nile River ( class 5 rapids )
Walking with Lions in Zimbabwe
Zip Lining over Victoria Falls Gorge
Visiting Amani Baby orphanage in Uganda where we plan on sharing some of our time and talents:

Left, Judah and right, Asher...two precious little boys that have been loving cared for by AMANI BABY COTTAGE in Jinja, Uganda. They are being adopted by friends of ours here in Nashville, along with three other precious little boys!

Dan and I just returned from celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in Africa. I finally fell in love with Dan's dream of Africa... and fully understand why he has been so taken with Africa. The children, people, animals, lanscape, and history are amazing!

Welcome to " Life on the Hill"

Welcome to "Life on the Hill". We love our little corner of the world, and are thankful for the many Blessings that God has bestowed on our family.
  • Have there been MANY challenges along the way? YES!! But that is where we have grown closer to each other and to God, and been forced to lean on each other and to God when we are weary, tired, and frustrated.
  • Have things always been easy? NO WAY! There is no way to grow when things are easy, and there are no tough decisions that have to be made.
Dan and I have been married 25 years this summer, and have two incredible sons. Our youngest graduates from High school in a few weeks, and our eldest is serving our great country as LCpl. in the United States Marine Corps. We just returned from his Homecoming at Camp Lejeune, and here is a link to some powerful images of young Marines returning from the battlefields--some to greet new baby sons or daughters they had never been able to hold.
